The Effectiveness of Positive Parenting Training on Social Well-Being and Reduction of Child Aggression

Abstract :
Background and Aim: Aggression is any behavior that harms others and is often associated with emotional, behavioral, educational, and social problems. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of positive parenting education on social well-being and reduce children's aggression. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of positive parenting education on social well-being and reducing aggression in children. Method: The experimental research method was quasi-experimental. The statistical population of the study consisted of all elementary students in south of roudbar jonoob city and their mothers. The sample included 30 elementary students with their mothers. Data were collected using the Social Welfare Questionnaire of Keyes & Magyar-Moe (2003) and the Aggression Questionnaire Buss & Perry (1992). Results: The results showed that positive parenting training increased social well-being and reduced children's aggression. Conclusion: Positive parenting seems to be mediated through mechanisms such as listening with full attention, positive communication with the child, non-judgmental acceptance, and emotional awareness, leading to a parent-child relationship, reducing child aggression, and consequently it increases their social well-being.
