Abstract :
Aim: Nowadays in sport psychology considering of different aspect of psychological and pathology psychological of disorders even affection disorders and understanding of different aspect of them on sport functions are most in concentration. According to this view the purpose of this study is compare alexithymia and experiential avoidance between athletes and non-athletes.
Method: this study is a post accrued comparison. The population of this study included 100 people (50 athletes and 50 non-athletes of members of professional clubs of Tabriz city). These people who were chosen by multistage sampling method, completed Toronto alexithymia scale- 20 (TAS-20) and experiential avoidance (Gamez,2006). The results were analyzed by Manova testing in spss18.
Findings: The obtained results showed that there were significant differences in the mean score of the alexithymia and experiential avoidance and its components (p>. /005).
Results: The results revealed that athletes had less score of alexithymia and experiential avoidance expect in tolerance of distress as a component in experiential avoidance scale.
It's recommended that sport activity be a part of social planning and even in educational system to diminish the psychological and affectional disorders. And improve the solidarity between people to release their emotion in right way and encounter with difficulties with rational path.
