Title :
The role of attachment in people with ADHD
-
Abstract :
Although attachment theory seems to be a family affair, very little research has been done on the role of attachment in Attention Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder, especially how parents react to their children with the disorder. There is also evidence that attachment styles are associated with quality of life. The special child-parent relationship is influenced by parental attachment. According to attachment theory, maternal behavior and reactions of the mother to her child are influenced by the mother's attachment style; Because they, based on their childhood experiences, ask their parents to respond to their children's emotional reactions and shape their personalities. Mothers with secure attachments are more likely to be insecure, warm, supportive, and sensitive than mothers, and to help their children solve problems more. Children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) have problems with how they interact with other people, and their attachment styles are different from those of people who do not. This study studied attachment health in people with ADHD and attachment in healthy individuals.
