The Effect of 4H Model Life Skills Training on Cognitive Emotional Self-Regulation and Social Self-efficacy of Methadone Addicts

Abstract :
The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of life skills training based on 4H model on cognitive-emotional self-regulation and social self-efficacy in methadone addicts. The statistical population was about 180 people and the sample size was selected by using Cohen's table with effect size of 0.50 and alpha of 0.5 and test power of 97 against 30 persons. The research tools were March emotional self-regulation strategies questionnaire, adolescent social self-efficacy questionnaire and 4h life skills training protocol. The results of analysis of covariance showed that life skills training in 4h method led to improvement in cognitive self-regulation and social self-efficacy in addicts. One of the important goals of life skills training is to develop skills such as self-awareness, problem solving, decision making, effective communication, etc. that give the person the ability to solve problems and overcome life's problems, so they will feel more self-efficacious.
