Cultural psychotherapy is referring to the application of psychotherapy among groups or subculture within a country. Really, there are a relationship between cultural psychotherapy and indigenous psychotherapies in every society. The fundament purpose of cultural psychotherapy is investigation on significant problems of cross-cultural counseling and psychotherapy with emphasis toward international perspectives and indigenous systems of values in any society. However, there is the minority scientific evidence about the efficacy of cultural psychotherapy for patients in the Middle East. From the theoretical perspective, there is not a united approach toward the cultural psychotherapy but its shared cardinal element is the relationship of culture and behavior. But the main categories of cultural psychotherapy are including sex, gender identity, distress, and racial or ethnic identity. Family therapy is another important category in the field of cultural psychotherapy.
